Rhuematologist Visit Oct 23rd

Hi Everyone! Isabella and I went to houston to see her rhuematologist for a checkup. The doctor told me that she looked great and that he really did not have any concerns that needed to be addressed. The doctor did want to get blood work and xrays taken. Well I hadnt heard anything by Wednesday so I called the nurse and asked for results. On thursday the nurse called me back and she said isabellas CBC was low..aka her red blood count was low. We were instructed to see her pediatriciton here in San Antonio and get some new tests redone to assure that it wasnt a machine error. Nope Isabella's blood count has gone down and it is serious. This means that she is anemic and it can get worse. Today (friday) we went back to the doctor to get some results and to also see the blood doctor. The low end of CBC is like 10.5... Isabellas cbc was 6.5. So the questino is what to do now. Well they took a bunch of blood today to run tests to see why Isabellas red blood cells are being broken down quicker than her body can reproduce them. Isabella is anemic as mentioned. So we will be waiting for the blood tests today and some next week. If her CBC goes down more then we might need a blood transfusion. We go back Tuesday to repeat blood tests. This is somethingthat needs to monitored very closely as its dangerously low. Whew this is all overwhelming!

Update on Oliva Family

Hi Everyone! Well we have some updates! We finally found out where we are moving to and it's Augusta Georgia. Eddie will be apart of the 63rd Regiment at Fort Gordon. Isabella and I will be going to Hawaii on November 5th-10th. All 3 of us willcome back to san antonio on the 10th andwill leave for Georgia on the 29th of November! Wish us all good luck!

September 3rd Isabella's hearing test.

Today I took Isabella to her hearing test and the outcomes were not really as I had hoped but what can you do. We got there and she needed to be still and sit on my lap but she was squirming around and wanting to play with the toys on the floor. The doctor said that she needs to go back to her primary physician to look at her ears. The tech also said that Isabella's ear drums look retracted. So we need to treat that with either medication or get isabella tubes. Lets stick with the medication. After her ears clear up we will go back and try the hearing test again.

August 27th Physical Therepy

Today Isabella has a physical therapy appointment and this should be interesting. Last night I went in to check on Isabella because she has been cranky and not feeling good. Isabella had thrown up all over herself again. It kind of worries me a little bit. So Today she is just quiet and wants to lay around. We are getting ready for her appointment and will stop by Walgreen's to get her Naproxin for her inflammatory in her leg. I will write back after we get back from physical therapy and blog how it goes. Alright we are back from Physical therepy. When we first got there I had to fill out paperwork and such. We went back and met with our physical therapist. There was also a PT in training. So isabella was playing with toys but after bumping her head a couple times under a table she got quite upset and didnt want to comply with measurments and such. I had to hold her and give her the bottle to calm her down. Finally we were able to get her to be compliant and play around a little bit. We went into a bigger gym and Isabella cheered up and had some fun with balls, a ramp and stairs. Isabella was not too happy about having to leave.. *laughs*.... So they will call us for our next appt. The PT gave me some streches to do with Isabella so we get can get her warmed up to the physical therepy.

As of September 5th Isabella will be 20 months! Can you believe it?

September 2nd Update: Opthamalogy

Today is September 2nd 2008. Isabella had an appointment with the ophthalmologist. The Rhuemotologist in Houston recommended that Isabella see a eye doctor on a regular basis. This was her first eye exam and she passed with flying colors. The ophthalmologist did say that he wanted to keep an close eye on her and see her every four months to recheck her eyes. Tomorrow September 3rd 2008 Isabella has a doctor appointment to get her hearing checked. There was a little bit of a worry when she has not started saying more words. Isabella does say Mama, Dada, Hi, and bye. My friend has thought that she heard Isabella saying "thank you" but I personally has not heard it yet. I keep working with her everyday telling her everything we do. When we change the diaper I show her and name the items. She also is getting two more teeth. She almost has a full mouth of teeth. It is crazy to think that just yesterday it seems I had her and she was an itty bitty baby. Well I got to go for now and I will update tomorrow when we get back from the eye doctor. I will also post pictures soon.
